World Fastest Bicycle Wheelie World Record set by Jake Drummond

Usually you see how long you can ride before the wheel hits the ground. Other than that, wheelies aren’t too exciting.

However, an Oshkosh teenager has changed the thought on that, at least when he's popping a wheelie. Jake Drummond, a sophomore-to-be at Oshkosh West, has taken wheelies to a level likely few have ever imagined.

On July 27, 2009 at West’s track, Drummond entered the Guinness Book of World Records, when he broke the record for fastest wheelie ever ridden on a bicycle over 100 meters. The record to beat was 16.68 seconds and Drummond had no problem beating that as he broke the record three times.

After a failed first attempt, in which Drummond couldn't keep the wheelie going, he broke the record with a time of 16.01. He later followed with times of 15.69 and 15.21.

Afterward, he wasn’t jumping around and yelling, “I’m going to Disney World!” He knew this was a done deal.

“The wind is the biggest factor, Drummond said. could’ve gotten in the 14s, for sure.

There was a cross wind which affected his balance, but in the end it didn’t matter.

The record-setting day was about a year in the making. Drummond said he came up with the idea in school.

We were doing a school project and we were doing a news report, Drummond said. We looked through the Guinness book and some guy in Barbados did it and I thought I would try it for fun. I beat it by a lot.

Drummond has been on a bike without training wheels since he was three, and according to his parents, he rides all the time. In addition to riding wheelies, Drummond has jumps in his backyard, ramps, berms, you name it.

He has loved bicycles his whole life, said Cathy Drummond, Jake's mother. It just made sense. When we happened to come across this fact he could ride this fast, it was easy.

We’ll see what happens. We have to go through all the protocol, the witnesses … they have to accept it.

Which shouldn't be an issue since the Drummonds took all the necessary steps.

Prior to attempting the record ride, the Drummonds had to contact the Guinness Book of World Records to make sure everything they did was official.

They needed to have electronic timing, video of the event and video had to be taken of Drummond’s bike to prove there weren’t any alterations made to the bike. It must be standard.

Also, Drummond could attempt to break the record as many times as he wanted.

EATING FRUITS & AVOID HEART ATTACKS

We all think eating fruits means just buying fruits, cutting it and just popping it into our mouths. It's not as easy as you think. It's important to know how and when to eat.

What is the correct way of eating fruits? IT MEANS NOT EATING FRUITS AFTER YOUR MEALS! FRUITS SHOULD BE EATEN ON AN EMPTY STOMACH.

If you eat fruit like that, it will play a major role to detoxify your system, supplying you with a great deal of energy for weight loss and other life activities.

FRUIT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT FOOD.

Let's say you eat two slices of bread and then a slice of fruit. The slice of fruit is ready to go straight through the stomach into the intestines, but it is prevented from doing so.

In the meantime the whole meal rots and ferments and turns to acid. The minute the fruit comes into contact with the food in the stomach and digestive juices, the entire mass of food begins to spoil.

So please eat your fruits on an empty stomach or before your meals! You have heard people complaining - every time I eat water-melon I burp, when I eat durian my stomach bloats up, when I eat a banana I feel like running to the toilet etc. - actually all this will not arise if you eat the fruit on an empty stomach. The fruit mixes with the putrefying other food and produces gas and hence you will bloat!

Graying hair, balding, nervous outburst, and dark circles under the eyes all these will not happen if you take fruits on an empty stomach.

There is no such thing as some fruits, like orange and lemon are acidic, because all fruits become alkaline in our body, according to Dr. Herbert Shelton who did research on this matter. If you have mastered the correct way of eating fruits, you have the Secret of beauty, longevity, health, energy, happiness and normal weight.

When you need to drink fruit juice - drink only fresh fruit juice, NOT from the cans. Don't even drink juice that has been heated up. Don't eat cooked fruits because you don't get the nutrients at all. You only get to taste. Cooking destroys all the vitamins.

But eating a whole fruit is better than drinking the juice. If you should drink the juice, drink it mouthful by mouthful slowly, because you must let it mix with your saliva before swallowing it. You can go on a 3-day fruit fast to cleanse your body. Just eat fruits and drink fruit juice throughout the 3 days and you will be surprised when your friends tell you how radiant you look!

KIWI: Tiny but mighty. This is a good source of potassium, magnesium, vitamin E & fiber. Its vitamin C content is twice that of an orange.

APPLE: An apple a day keeps the doctor away? Although an apple has a low vitamin C content, it has antioxidants & flavonoids, which enhances the activity of vitamin C thereby helping to lower the risks of colon cancer, heart attack & stroke. STRAWBERRY: Protective Fruit. Strawberries have the highest total antioxidant power among major fruits & protect the body from cancer-causing, blood vessel-clogging free radicals.

ORANGE : Sweetest medicine. Taking 2-4 oranges a day may help keep colds away, lower cholesterol, prevent & dissolve kidney stones as well as lessens the risk of colon cancer.

WATERMELON: Coolest thirst quencher. Composed of 92% water, it is also packed with a giant dose of glutathione, which helps boost our immune system. They are also a key source of lycopene - the cancer fighting oxidant. Other nutrients found in watermelon are vitamin C & Potassium.

GUAVA & PAPAYA: Top awards for vitamin C. They are the clear winners for their high vitamin C content. Guava is also rich in fiber, which helps prevent constipation. Papaya is rich in carotene; this is good for your eyes.

Drinking Cold water after a meal = Cancer!

Can u believe this??

For those who like to drink cold water, this article is applicable to you. It is nice to have a cup of cold drink after a meal. However, the cold water will solidify the oily stuff that you have just consumed. It will slow down the digestion. Once this 'sludge' reacts with the acid, it will break down and be absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food. It will line the intestine. Very soon, this will turn into fats and lead to cancer. It is best to drink hot soup or warm water after a meal.

Longest Flight Time by a Paper Airplane World Record set by Japanese

Hiroshima--Paper airplane enthusiast Takuo Toda has rewritten the Guinness World Record for the longest flight time by a paper airplane.

Folded from paper made from sugarcane, Toda's record-breaking airplane weighs only 2 grams. On April 11, it was thrown to a height of 18 meters at a gymnasium in Fukuyama and slowly circled to the ground in a flight of 27.9 seconds--0.3 second longer than the previous record held by an American.

"I'd been trying to break the record for 11 years," said Toda, 52. "I finally got it."

In September, Toda will make a guest appearance at a national competition at the Makuhari Messe convention center in Mihama Ward, Chiba. "Next time my plane will fly for 30 seconds," he said.

In 1978, while a student at Waseda University, Toda was involved in a mountain-climbing accident. To kill time while hospitalized, he folded paper airplanes.

"It was interesting to be able to make various types of airplanes from one piece of paper, so I ordered a book on aeronautical engineering and designed [paper airplanes]," Toda recalled.

His dedication did not fade even after he took over his family's precision equipment processing company at the age of 24. In 1995, Toda established the Japan Origami Airplane Association with five close friends. Serving as chairman of the association, Toda attracted attention when he launched paper airplanes from the Arc de Triomphe in Paris and from a hot air balloon.

Toda currently is working with research institutions on an experiment to launch a paper airplane--shaped like a space shuttle and made from highly heat-resistant paper--from space into the Earth's atmosphere.

"An increasing number of children have no dreams about science," Toda said. "I hope [children] will be excited by the sight of a paper airplane flying in space." -The Yomiuri Shimbun/ANN.

The Pyramids Were White

The stereotypical vision of the Egyptian Pyramids are large mountain like brown piles of stone uprooting from the desert having a rough contour.

Though when first constructed around 2500 BC. The pyramids were paper white and as smooth as glass, toping the pyramid was a golden capstone that gleamed in the desert sun.

It was an amazing spectacle. The pyramids somewhat stayed in this state until the Arab invasion of Egypt around AD 500.

The Arab invaders stripped the pyramid of it's smooth limestone and built a huge section of Cairo. Many of the Mosques and Palaces of Cairo consist of the Ancient stones of the pyramids.

Smallest Helicopter- Amazing World Record

MATSUMOTO, Japan-- 75-year-old Gennai Yanagisawa, who runs an electronics equipment company in Matsumoto, central Japan, has created a 75kg (165-pound) one-man aircraft which sets the world record for the smallest helicopter.

In this photo released on by Japanese helicopter manufacturing company Gen Corporation, the company employee Yasutoshi Yokoyama flies in the air by GEN H-4, a compact single-seater helicopter developed by Gen Corporation, during its test flight in Matsumoto in central Japan's Nagano Prefecture.

Yanagisawa developed the GEN H-4 helicopter — with rotors, a chair, footrest and handle bar - in the late 1990s.

Yanagisawa's helicopter is the smallest model in the world in terms of weight and its rotor length of 3.9 metres.

The GEN H-4 has two rotors turning in opposite directions to maintain stability, and four engines that enables a 30-minute flight with a top speed of about 56 miles per hour.

The helicopter has two identical rotors that turn in opposite directions making the need for a tail rotor obsolete. Each rotor counteracts the others torque keeping the helicopter free of any unwanted spin.

The entire rotor head is supported on a gimbal, which is slanted towards the direction of travel by the control bar. The pilot can therefore change their direction by shifting their weight.

It has four twin cylinder engines and can remain in the air even if two of the engines of malfunction. However, they have attached a parachute above the mast just in case...

Da Vinci designed what is thought to be the first vertical flight machine, "an aerial screw," in the 1480s, according to Italy's National Museum of Science and Technology.

Yanagisawa, who was named after Hiraga Gennai, an inventor during the Edo period (1603-1867), by his father, became hooked on making helicopters after turning 50.

Yanagisawa has sold five GEN H-4s in Japan and two in the U.S. for recreational use. The helicopters sell for about $57,140. "I hope someday this can be used just like a scooter," he said.
