World's Largest Corn Maze Guinness World Record

Verizon Wireless, the company with the nation's largest and most reliable wireless voice and data network, is sponsoring a Nebraska farmer's efforts to create the world's largest corn maze and be recognized in the Guinness World Records book.

The 54.428 acre maze is part of Benson Farms, which is located in Denton, Neb., just southwest of Lincoln, the state's capital city. For the past four years, owner Wayne Benson has created large corn mazes on his property, but this is the first official attempt to surpass the world record of 40.489 acres held by a maze created in Dixon, Calif. in 2007.

Benson says the application for the record attempt has been accepted by officials with the Guinness World Records and validation documentation is in the process of being submitted. He expects an answer on the world record before the maze opens in late September.

The image on the maze depicts Verizon Wireless' test man along with the company logo and tagline America's Most Reliable Wireless Network. While Benson invites the public to come out each year and get lost, he acknowledges that maze walkers do use their wireless devices while navigating the cornfield.

This year there are four different maze trails, from easy to very difficult, and people again will use their cell phones to call for help, or even to light their way along the trails, said Benson. Verizon Wireless, the largest U.S. wireless provider, is a great fit as a sponsor for our world record attempt. And this year, we are adding signs in the corn maze where people can text message for clues as they navigate through the field.

Nancy Clark, president-Great Plains Region, Verizon Wireless, said, The corn maze is a fun entertainment option in the fall for residents and visitors to Nebraska. The maze sponsorship also is a great way to celebrate our statewide presence as we prepare to convert our Alltel-branded markets to Verizon Wireless in the fourth quarter of this year.

Verizon Wireless has a growing presence in Nebraska, having opened a customer service center in Lincoln in 2007, and with the acquisition of Alltel, serving an expanded customer-base throughout the state.

The test man was chosen as the maze design to highlight Verizon Wireless' continual investment to increase capacity and augment the quality of its wireless voice and data in Nebraska and across the country. The company has invested more than $50 billion since it was formed - more than $5.5 billion on average every year - to increase the coverage and capacity of its premier nationwide network and to add new services. Since 2005, Verizon Wireless has invested more than $107 million to enhance its Nebraska network.

World's Fattest Boy World Record set by Dzhambik Khatokhov

The 9 year old mountain boy Dzhambik Khatokhov Weights is a 150kg. His Buggy had unbreakable wheels and the family's chairs had to be specially made to prevent him crushing them to matchwood. WorldDzhambik Khatokhov is the world’s fattest child.

Dzhambik is known as Jambik and his ambition of winning gold for Russia at the Olympics. But British doctor says when he was met; his health is in grave danger.

The 5ft 2in youngster Dzhambik has become a celebrity in his hometown of Nalchik in the southern Russian republic of Kabardino-Balkaria. When the public asked Jambik he wants to be slim, that time he answered I don't know and He then added: No, I like it like this.

Before 2 years British Doctors Ian Campbell spent a week with Jambik family for studying of his weight gaining and he said that Jambik's health is dire. When he was five his mum took him to Moscow clinics where we did all the available tests, scans of all organs and tests on hormones. And they showed he is absolutely healthy and his heart, liver and everything else is proportional to his size. Nayla said I try to feed him healthily. We do not have a We do not have a restriction for sweets and he can have an ice cream if he wants. I am not putting him on a diet, because he needs food - he does sports and he is active all day. But he does not eat only fast food or ice cream or sweets.

He's a good boy and never uses his size to bully younger kids. He practices his wrestling five days in week and also goes swimming and said I want to be a sportsman when I grow up. Or better, an Olympic champion. I like to be strong.

Pig born with a Monkey face !

This miracle happened in China and many very amused to see a Pig born with a Monkey head !! Curious people came to the owner Feng Changlin after the news spread in Fengzhang village, Xiping township in China.

The pig looks just like a monkey, with two thin lips, a small nose and two big eyes. It has rear legs which are also much longer than its forelegs, causing it to jump instead of walk.

The big question is whether this pig would live on ground or climb on trees when it grows up. People have suggested the owner to keep the piglet in observation.

Song of Whales

The song of humpback whale can last for half an hour and can be heard to hundreds of kilometers. How can whale sing?

Whales like dolphins have a complex language. They emit a large quantity of different sounds: whistling, yelling, moaning, and croaking among others. Sometimes it resembles to singing; at other times, to crying.

Some songs are so high-pitched (ultra-sounds) that they can only be recorded by specialized instruments. In fact, cetaceans do not possess vocal cords. They produce these sounds by letting off air through their blowhole and are able to modify the pitch of their song with the help of two small air pouches surrounding the blowhole.

The Rare White Lion

The Latin name of Panthera leo krugeri is not limited to white lions. It applies to all South African lion subspecies; the prides of which are mostly located in Kruger National Park and nearby game reserves.

White lions are not albino as they have pigmentation which shows particularly in eye, paw pad and lip colour. The correct term for their condition is leucism, a state where there is near-normal eye colour, but loss of pigment in the skin and fur.

The cause of the unusual colouration is the same as for the white tiger. A recessive gene which results in the white appearance is found in a very small number of captive lions.

White specimens usually have a yellowish-brown or golden eye colour which is very similar to their tawny cousins, though some have bluish colouring like the white tiger.

Unlike normal lion cubs which spotted at birth, the pelage of white cubs is almost pure white. Over the months the coat gradually darkens to become a cream or ivory colour. At last count, 32 white lions were recorded worldwide.

North Korea's Ryugyong Hotel: Ugliest Building on Earth

t's a rather dubious honor to be considered the ugliest of just about anything at all, but according to many, the 105-story Ryugyong Hotel in Pyongyang, North Korea appears to be the winner of the ugly building contest.

The Ryugyong Hotel with its 3,000 rooms has been described as a hideous and distorted version of a fairy-tale castle that dominates the city's skyline and is so ugly that it is frequently air-brushed out of publicity shots of the city.

Construction began in 1987 (although no one knows why) but stopped in 1992. It is unlikely that it will ever be finished due to the fact that North Korea ran out of money and there is no tourist industry in the region.

Ryugyong Hotel remains an eyesore that should not to be viewed after eating. There it stands and will for many years to come, unfinished, unwanted, and very, very ugly!
